May-September 2008, Monroe Bank, Bloomingtton, IN

John Bower will have 2 photographs in an exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversery of the Monroe County Courthouse. The exhibit is sponsored by Monroe Bank and the Bloomington Area Arts Council, and will be in Monroe Bank's Kirkwood Banking Center. It will run from May 19 to September 20, 2008. The Bank is located at 210 E. Kirkwood in Bloomington. A reception will be held on May 22, 2008 at 5:30 pm.

June-August 2008, Arts Place, Portland, IN

This solo exhibit will feature a selection of photographs from all of John Bower's photography books. The exhibit will run from Friday June 27, 2008 through Saturday August 16, 2008. Arts Place is located at 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, and on Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM. Their phone number is 260-726-2081.

In conjunction with the above exhibit, John Bower will be giving a PowerPoint presentation about his work at Arts Place June 27, 2008 at 3 PM. This presentation is titled "Capturing the Soul of Indiana—A celebration of our overlooked cultural heritage." There will also be a book signing afterwards.

August 2008, Old Settlers Celebration, Delphi, IN

John Bower will be giving a PowerPoint presentation about his work in conjunction with the Old Settlers Celebration in Delphi, IN on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The title of his presentation will be "Capturing the Soul of Indiana—A celebration of our overlooked cultural heritage." There will also be a book signing. The presentation will be in the Circuit Court Room of the Carroll County Courthouse in downtown Delphi, and is sponsored by the Delphi Preservation Society.

August 2008, Indiana State Fair, Indianapolis, IN

John Bower will be meeting the public as well as signing (and selling) all five of his books at the Indiana Authors Showcase, which will be at the Home and Family Arts Building at the Indiana State Fair on Monday, August 11, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. John will be in the Indiana Authors Showcase booth, which is located inside the Home and Family Arts Building, to the left of the main entrance (next to the performance stage).

September 2008, Art Bank, Indianapolis, IN

John Bower will have a one-day exhibition of his black-and-white photographs at the the Art Bank gallery at 811 Massachusetts Avenue in Indianapolis on September 5, 2008. John will be at the gallery to meet the public and to sign copies of his five photography books during the IDADA (Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association) First Friday Arts Tour, which runs from from 6 to 9 PM on September 5. In its fifth year, the First Friday Arts Tour will have over 25 downtown galleries and art venues participating in the evening's festivities.

September 27, 2008, Heritage Festival Days, Hope, IN

John Bower will have a book signing at the Heritage Festival Days in Hope, IN on September 27, 2008. He will have all five of his photography books on hand, along with some photographic enlargements. The precise time and location will be announced closer to the event.

October 2008, Tipppecanoe County Public Library, Lafayette, IN

John Bower will be giving a PowerPoint presentation about his work at the Tippecanoe County Public Library on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The title of his presentation will be "Capturing the Soul of Indiana—A celebration of our overlooked cultural heritage." There will also be a book signing. October 2008, Edinburgh Wright-Hageman Public Library, Edinburgh, IN
