An upcoming book on public buildings in Indiana Social Duty, Civic Pride—Erected with taxes, tuition, & tithes |
||
This future book will cover buildings that were constructed for civic and cultural purposes, and have been central to the social fabric of Indiana. We plan to include all manner of structures erected with money from "taxes, tuition, or tithes." There will be municipal buildings of all sorts: jails, county homes, public utilities, schools, and churches. We're primarily interested in subjects that have been abandoned, shut down, closed-up, or out-of-use, so we can preserve them on film before they vanish. But, we also want to include still-occupied places—like Courthouses—to reveal unique views, unfamiliar features, unusual details, or aspects which are especially appealing, interesting, or historic. We need your help. Tell us about buildings or objects you feel should be included in this book by sending John an email. Thank you. |
