A new book...

The Common Good, An Indiana heritage built with taxes, tithes, & tuition

This new book will cover buildings that were constructed for civic and cultural purposes, and have been central to the social fabric of Indiana. It will include all manner of structures erected with funding from "taxes, tithes, or tuition." There will be municipal buildings of all sorts: jails, county homes, public utilities. Also one-room schools, defunct high schools, and churches—both large and small.

The Common Good is in its final stages, and should be in print in the summer of 2010.

Another new book...

We will be starting on a book in the summer of 2010 that will deal with Indiana's agricultural heritage. It will contain images of barns, silos, chicken coops, sheds, and other outbuildings, as well as old farm equipment. If you know of a particularly interesting structure in your area, please let us know by sending John an email with its location.
